Eating Well:

What you eat and drink has an enormous effect on your body's ability to function at it's best. Eating well can greatly enhance virtually every aspect of your well being, from giving you greater energy to helping you think clearly.

Different eating habits suit different people. Choose foods that make your body FEEL good and keep you healthy

Eating well is about permanently adding healthy foods to your lifestyle. The basic building blocks for healthy eating are to choose foods that are pure, fresh and varied

Pure:

Pesticides and hormones are commonly used in food production. Alone they may not be dangerous to our health but combined together they are one of the major toxic loads our bodies have to bear. Choosing pure and organic foods where possible helps to minimise your intake of artificial chemicals

Fresh:

Fresh foods that are in season have the greatest nutritional value and taste. Fresh fruits and vegetables are high in water content, which makes them easily digestible. They are a valuable source of fluid for your body, which is essential for its efficient function.

Varied:

Eat a combination of foods including fats, proteins and small amounts of carbohydrates. You want a wide variety of essential nutrients and vitamins

Enjoyment:

Enjoying and finding satisfaction in the quality of your food can dramatically improve your QUALITY OF LIFE

Sit down and eat instead of eating on the run. Take your TIME and pay attention.

Have a full fruit bowl and keep nuts/seeds nearby. This makes it easy to make a smoothie and choose something HEALTHY.

Losing weight:

(If you are carrying too much) losing weight can greatly enhance your well being and reduce the stress on your spine and joints. It also benefits your heart and circulation.

To lose weight you need to change your LIFESTYLE. Take in less ENERGY in the form of food, and use more ENERGY through regular EXERCISE. Important to continue choosing foods with a high nutritional value when trying to lose weight.

Crash diets/Quick fixes do not enhance your overall HEALTH

Supplements:

Taking vitamins, minerals or other nutrient supplements can be very beneficial especially if you are not getting them from your food.

Chiropractic care:

By clearing intereference from your nervous system, which controls all of your body's functions, chiropractic care helps your body to function more efficiently. This helps many people to improve their digestion, absorb essential nutrients better, normalise their metabolism and have greater energy

Fruit & Vegetables:

Rich in fibre, low in fat and contain a vast range of different essential nutrients. While it is not necessary to be vegetarian to be healthy, it does help to eat more plant foods than meat

Thirst:

The human body is approxiamately 70% water. Best to drink at least 6-8 glasses of pure water everyday.

Drinks such as coffee, tea, soft drinks and alcoholic drinks contain concentrated substances such as caffeine and sugar which add considerably to your toxic load and often dehydrate you.

When to eat:

Mid-morning brunch is very important for your body. Eating a healthy brunch sets up your energy supply and metabolism for the rest of the day.

Largest meal late afternoon/early evening. Smaller meal/snack/smoothie only to satisfy hunger in the middle of the day. Allowing two hours between eating and sleeping enables your body to digest the meal before your metabolism slows down during sleep. The energy spared from digestion becomes available to regenerate and revitalize you.
