Robin Sharma’s 2nd book and a few more quotes that jumped out when we read it from ‘The Saint, the Surfer and the CEO’

The world wants us to live great lives. It wants us to be happy. And it wants us to win.

The richest person in the world, isn't the person who has the most but the one who needs the least.

Success is nothing more than living your life according to your own truth and on your own terms. It's adhering to the values that speak to the best within you regardless of the external pressures of society. Success is living your life in the process of creating and realizing what's most important to you - not what's important to anyone else. This point of wisdom alone, if integrated into each and every one of the days that you have left, will cause you to live an extraordinary life.

Our lives are nothing more than a series of moments - if you miss the moments, you miss your life.

Forgiveness isn't about condoning what someone did to you in the past - it's about accepting that they only hurt you because they were in some form of fear.

I expect to pass through this life but once. If, therefore, there can be any kindness I can show, or any good thing I can do to any fellow being, let me do it now, and not defer or neglect it, as I shall not pass this way again.

It's so much more powerful to work on changing yourself rather than wasting your energies in trying to change the other person. And that's why seeing the opportunity for growth in every single situation of your life and then taking personal responsibility rather than blaming someone else is actually the best way to influence the other person to change.

The moment you find your main aim, your vital destiny - that's the moment you'll step into a whole new way of being. You'll stop worrying about making money or being famous or climbing a corporate ladder, and you'll start concerning yourself with doing your part to create a new world and make it a more loving place. And that's when the best part within you will start to feel happy. At a deep level you'll feel better about yourself as a human being. You'll start to feel fulfilled, that your life matters. And this is when your life will take on the quality of greatness.

Happiness isn't a place you get to - it's an inner state you create. Anyone can be happy - it's available to everyone and it's available right now. We just need to stop and pay more attention to the treasures that already surround us.

Stop struggling and start being. Struggle breeds stress, and stress is a barrier to living in a state of grace, ease and flow - the kind of state to you need to be in to attract your best life possible to you. To grow a flower, there's no struggle or trying - it just happens. You can't push the ocean, you need to let it flow. If you don't get this point and you stay in this struggle, you're basically going against the rules of nature.

Stephen Hawking, the great physicist, is reported to have said that we're on a minor planet of a very average star located within the outer limits of one of a hundred thousand million galaxies. Given this, I really see how our problems and frustrations aren't so big. We walk this planet for a very short time, and yet we're so serious about it all.

He owned so little, yet had so much.

Good companies focus purely on profit, great companies focus on their higher purpose - to create great results for their customers and make a difference in their lives.

It's not where you end up in your career that's important - it's the journey you've taken to get to that place that makes you a human being. The true reward of a well-lived life doesn't lie in what you get at the end of your path, but what you become once you get there.

Live your life each day as if you would climb a mountains. An occassional glance toward the summit puts the goal in mind. Many beautiful scenes can be observed from each new vantage point. Climb steadily, slowly, enjoy each passing moment, and the view from the summit will serve as fitting climax to the journey.
